What is the best acne face wash?

The best acne face wash for you simply comes down to what your skin type can tolerate.

Some people can tolerate benzoyl peroxide based products, some can not. Personally I have found these to be the most effective in combating acne, but ONLY if you are lucky enough not to suffer from side effects!

So what is the best acne face wash? We will look at several different products here, and you may draw your own conclusions.
Remember there is no need to limit yourself to one product, but do ensure that you give a new product ample time to take effect on your skin - up to 2 months or more.

Clearasil Daily Facial Wash

Clearasil Daily Facial Wash is one of the original acne face wash treatments. It is well known and sold in supermarket chains around the world.

Clearasil Daily Facial Wash is a soap replacement with a foaming ingredient which is used to wash dirt and oil away.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

From my experience, this is one of the best face wash products for acne.
The active ingredient is salicylic acid in a low 2% dosage, meaning this is quite a mild cleanser.

Neutrogena claim: “Neutrogena oil free acne wash rinses clean leaving no pore-clogging residue. Neutrogena oil free acne wash contains skin comforters that soothe and condition and help prevent irritation.”

I certainly found my skin was not irritated by this product, so I can wholeheartedly recommend it!
costs around $6 for a 6oz bottle.

Purpose Gentle Cleansing Acne Wash

 Purpose Gentle Cleansing Acne Wash is a dermatologist recommended acne face wash. It is soap free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic (won’t clog your pores).

It is stated that those with sensitive skin can still use it twice a day without irritation. I did find this to be somewhat true; I certainly did not have that “tight” face feeling after using this product, although I still prefer the Clearasil.

Ingredients: Water, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Lauroampho PG-Acetate Phosphate, Fragrance, Quatermium-15, Tetrasodium EDTA

 I have only mentioned three products here, keep in mind there are many more on the market.

Out of the three washes above, I do prefer the Clearasil Daily Facial Wash, and it is the one I continue to use
